Introduction

This weekend’s action at the Adrian Flux Arena features Micro Bangers, two-litre Saloon Stock Cars and 1300cc Stock Cars. Racing returns to our usual Saturday night slot, (14 April, 5:30pm)

 

There are currently 82 Micro Bangers, 32 2L Stock Cars and 42 1300cc Stock Cars booked in for action.

 

Any driver who turns up without being booked in to race will have to pay for any complimentary admissions which they may be entitled to and if we become fully booked you will not be able to race.

If you are wanting to race but not booked in you may book in to race by texting 07939 580652. If you are booked in but need to canel you can le us know on the same number. 

Drivers please note that the pits open at 2pm and your early arrival will be appreciated. Drivers turning up in the last hour could well find themselves missing their first race. 

 

Micro Bangers

Heading the entry is multi-title-holder 830 Lee White. The Saffron Walden man has had another strong start to the season and currently sits second in the national points after last weekend’s action.

Starting with White at the back of the grid will be local man 673 Darren Fendley, another who has a string of titles to his name. Both drivers to go a bit better in slightly bigger machinery but Fendley and his Team Bash team-mate 674 Luke Childerhouse do enjoy the Micros.

Vauxhall man 566 Tony Pallett goes almost as well in Micros as he does in 1500s so will certainly be one to watch, while current UK champion 165 Ben Randell should also live up to his billing.

The Bears’ 321 Kieran Fry is making a long trek from the south to be in action. 

The field is packed with Micro specialists such as 36 Ricky and 37 Dave Lewis, 135 Donny and 143 Aaron Mann, and 69 Brad Bartrum.

 All-round entertainers like 51 James Licquorice, 155 Sam Coote and 851 Adam Storr can be counted on to keep things lively, as can 247 Jon Bailey who likes nothing more than to be right in the middle of a big crash.

 Two-Litre Saloon Stock Cars

Defending track champion 349 Michael Allard got his season off to a good start and after one meeting is back at the top of the Lynn Points Chart.

399 Cole Atkins denied Allard a win last time out though with a fantastic drive in the All Comers where he outfoxed Michael with a great drive.

600 Barry Russell once again makes the long trip from Scotland. Despite living a long way from shale racing Russell is no slouch on the loose surfaced tracks

172 Jack Rust impressed on his Saloon debut last time at Lynn and was unlucky not to win the Clive Grief Memorial Final when he produced a fantastic drive.

Expect the likes of 306 Daniel Parker, 360 Carl Waterfield, 428 Lee Sampson, 570 Simon Venni and 641 Willie Skoyles Jnr to be in amongst the hunt for silverware whilst the seasonal debut of 26 Tommy Barnes is likely to see a few feathers ruffled!

 1300cc Stock Cars

The little stock cars also return after a very entertaining Clive Grief Memorial at Easter. That was won by 400 Kevin Shinn who looks set to be a contender for major honours this year.

Starting from the very back of the grid will be the formula’s champions, national points winner 450 Luke Jackson and the World of Shale champion 216 Dan Booth, who has been the formula’s benchmark for many years.

2016 world champion 333 Daniel Weavers is back in the hunt for strong results after shedding his gold and silver roof, while 149 Todd Payne is another looking to return to form, and 422 Martin Taylor is always a contender.

It’s been a good start to the season for 390 Karl Morris, despite a career-high Blue grade, but starting nearer the front of the grid, there are many who look dangerous. 682 Paul Sparrow brings experience from the national two-litre formula, while 241 Beau Southgate is the British champion at under-25 level  and 730 Brandon Mayes has shown he’s got the pace.

From the White grade, 116 Nat Cohn could be particularly dangerous, while 287 Dean Quinsee and 769 Ben Englestone have started the season on fire and will look to make hay before their inevitable upgrading.
