Introduction

The eagerly anticipated Unlimited Banger War of The Worlds event is back, the last few staging’s have been season highlights at the Adrian Flux Arena, with the 1500cc Banger East Anglian Teams Championship (Teams of 4) and Junior Bangers also on the billing. A night of fantastic non-stop Banger action.

The spectator gates will open at 3:30pm. The arena boasts great viewing all around (plenty of under-cover viewing too!), FREE on site and overflow parking, disabled viewing, licensed bars, ample food outlets and other great facilities.

Please note that all bags will be searched on entry and coolboxes, glass and alcohol are not allowed to be bought into the venue.

There are currently 64 Unlimited Bangers (17 Teams), 63 1500cc Bangers (17 Teams) and 31 Junior Bangers booked in to race.  

If you are booked in and are no longer able to race please let us know asap. If you are not booked in and would like to race please book in asap by texting 07939 580652. Drivers turning up not booked in to race will not receive complimentary admissions which they may be entitled to. Please note - the Junior Bangers are fully booked with a reserve list; please speak to your home promotion to be added to the reserve list. 

Drivers please note that the pits open at 2pm and your early arrival will be appreciated. Drivers turning up in the last hour could well find themselves missing their first race. Please note you will not be able to save space in the pits and if you want to park with someone please make sure you turn up with them. Only race transporters will be allowed in the pits

 

Unlimited Bangers

The Summer equivalent to the popular Icebreaker event is set to bring another good turnout of Unlimited Bangers to King’s Lynn. A light change in format see’s teams of 4 for 2019, as opposed to the previous teams of 6. Points are also on offer to only the top 3 in each race; so no settling for a top ten, If a driver wants to make sure his team scores points he needs to be in the top three – OR – stop the opposition to make sure his team mate does! With a big prize fund at stake, and more money up for grabs in entertaining than points on offer, It should be a great night for the Unlimiteds.

Unlimited Bangers points league: 1st place team £600, 2nd place team £400, 3rd place team £200.

Unlimited Bangers Entertainer league: 1st place team £1,000, 2nd place team £800, 3rd place team £600

Taylor Sowter is always a welcome addition - and always involved in the action!

Team Sowter/Filmer have won the last two years Entertainer leagues at this meeting, you can fully expect them to be in the mix once more; Taylor Sowter (388) currently top of the year-long King’s Lynn Entertainer league too!

Team Black A were the points winner last year, with a Team Black side the winner of the previous year too. A strong outing from the squad will likely feature well again once more.

Multiple Champion Jack Overy will lead Team Black in to battle

Team Extreme bring two teams once again and are always in the mix too. They will be ones to keep an eye on; as will Midlands regulars the Demons and a rare but welcome visit from Northern visitors Team “V”.

Previous runners up, Team 22 led by veteran racer Dave Vincent (22) and former winners Team VS Massive fronted by Shayne Winsor (160) also join the line up; both field strong teams and could take some stopping; add in the Dover Boys team who will bring tough competition to the line up.

1500cc Bangers

The 1500 Bangers are back in good numbers for the East Anglian Teams of 4 event, bookings almost double that of last year and some first-rate action expected. The Icebreaker team event is one of the highlights of the year and this event has the makings of being just as great and much like the Unlimiteds; points are only offer to the top three places – so drivers will need to make sure their teams are in those places and stop the opposition to make sure they are; particularly as there’s more prize money up for grabs in the entertainer league:

1500 Bangers points league: 1st place team receive £200, 2nd place team £120, 3rd place team £80. 

1500 Bangers Entertainer league: 1st place team £200, 2nd place team £160, 3rd place team £120

1500cc Banger action from our last meeting on Bank Holiday Monday

Team Mates took the title last year and are expected to feature well again; Team A featuring Tony Pallett (566) and Lee White (830) - two of the quickest drivers around Lynn; whilst Team B featuring up and coming youngster Matt Tillow (556) and last meetings final winner Cameron Hubbard (624).

Last year’s Bronze medallists and previous winners, Crunchers Crew, return another strong line up – former World Champion Davey Cox (119) leading the team. Rising Team Export  are rapidly becoming some of the top drivers around King’s Lynn, all four drivers in Team A over the last 12 months in particular have been heavily involved in the action. 

Two Predators teams should bring the action; Team A including Kieran Bowman (178) and Taylor Sowter (388) especially will be in the middle of things.

Team STB will also be bringing two teams; always smartly presented with the team picking up a handful of trophies already this year and ones to keep an eye & also highly likely to feature well.

 

Junior Bangers

The Junior Bangers round out the line up tonight with another capacity grid of cars joining us; they always put on a great show.

Emily Taylor (409) is improving at every meeting and is great to watch, last time out here she took the opening heat win and will be back again looking for more on the 18^th.

Alfie Tomlinson (888) has been in good form around King’s Lynn so far this year taking a feature final win earlier in the year and a heat win last time out, whilst Finlay Damon (08) also picked up some good results this year including a heat win 6^th April.

Harry Cobb (229) is also on a good run of form with some great results last time, two seconds and a third place in the final, he was leading the way in the final too until getting caught up in a pile up. Cobb is rapidly becoming one of the top Junior Banger drivers here and will be one to watch.

Bradley Green (449) benefited from Cobb tripping up in the final, and took the win with good results throughout the night too for good measure, can he make it two finals in a row on the 18^th?

It will be another excellent night of action all round from these three classes.

 

Funfair Ride

All the fun of the fair will be at King's Lynn on Saturday. We will have the kids helter skelter ride and the good news for mum and dad is that the ride will be free for the kids to go on as often as they like!
