Saturday 7th November - update
Saturday 7th November will see Trackstar staging the third running of the popular 2 Litre National Banger meeting that rolls the clock back to the mid-noughties. Once again we are inviting drivers to come and race with us in Nissan Bluebirds, Nissan Primeras, Vauxhall Cavaliers, Vauxhall Calibras and Toyota Carinas.
The basic spec for the meeting is as follows. In keeping with the idea that these meetings need to move forward occasionally, some of the engine rules and car eligibility have changed from previous years:
· As far as construction goes, normal ORCi National Banger regulations will apply
· Unlike previous years, we will be allowing rear wheel drive cars as well as front wheel drive, so anybody with an early Cavalier, Bluebird or Carina is welcome to use it
· Engine limit for the meeting is 2 litre
· Engine swaps will be permitted within manufacturer – e.g. Vauxhall to Vauxhall, Nissan to Nissan etc. However, any car using a later engine spec than originally fitted to the car being raced (e.g. Mk4 Astra twin-cam engine in a Cavalier) will be limited to 1600cc. Rear wheel drive cars may use a Ford Zetec engine (as per National Rules) but the 1600cc limit will still apply to be consistent with the front wheel drive cars
· Because there is little else you can do with them, we are opening up the meeting to Mk3 Primera (P12) and Toyota Carina E models this year
Driver Bookings open Tuesday 27 October, spectator tickets go on sale Wednesday 28 October.
Thank you.
