Introduction
Racing returns to the Adrian Flux Arena on Sunday 9 December with an all-Banger affair headlined by the Unlimited Nutcracker. 1500cc Bangers will contest their prestigious National Championship and Junior Bangers complete the bill.
The arena boasts great viewing all around (plenty of under cover viewing too!), free on site and overflow parking, disabled viewing, licensed bars, ample food outlets and other great facilities.
There are 53 Unlimited Bangers, 80 1500cc Bangers and 37 Junior Bangers booked in to race. - Please note this meeting is now FULLY BOOKED. Unlimited Bangers
The current holder of the Nutcracker title is 88 Lloyd Stark. It’s been a quiet year for Starky, so he’d like nothing more than to retain the crown.

Another former winner in the field is national points champion 830 Lee White who already looks to have sewn up the silver roof for another year. One of the most experienced and successful men in Unlimited Bangers, 22 Dave Vincent, will be out to show the youngsters a thing or two once more. He will be joined by protégé 322 Tom Fox, making his first Unlimited appearance at the track since Easter.

Other star names include one-time world champion 673 Darren Fendley, fellow local 757 Callum Gill, who won the British Under-25 title at the track last time out, and one of the stars of the season, 188 John Reeves.
Entertainers’ League champion elect, 178 Kieran Bowman can be relied upon to put his Predators’ colours to good use, while a couple of past winners of the Entertainer’s League will also spice up the action – 791 Nicky ‘Spud’ Young and 85 James Ellis will certainly get stuck in.

After a cracking second half of the season, 399 Jonny Atkin should be another one to watch, along with a host of drivers in the white grade for whom crashing is their business – and business is good. 100 Callum White, 222 Matty High and 273 Kevin McClagish rarely miss an opportunity to go in hard. The same can be said for 313 John Cullingford, the Gladiators’ 349 Lewis ‘Noddy’ Price and 604 Ross Cooper. The Wild Boyz’ 812 Lewis Winter will also enjoy getting stuck in on what looks set to be a crash-tastic afternoon of pre-Christmas action.

1500cc Bangers
The medium-sized Bangers contest their biggest event of the year, the National Championship, which brings with it a gold cross for the victor’s roof. That is currently held by 830 Lee White, one of a number of drivers on double duty.
White took the title from 566 Tony Pallett, who claimed an emotional victory two years ago, emulating his late father’s success 20 years earlier. Pallett, now the UK champion in Micro Bangers, would love to get that gold cross back.

Also looking to keep it in the family, the super-fast 337 Ashley Garrod will be aiming to emulate the success of his brother Terry, a three-time champion.
Among those racing in both senior classes on the day, 88 Lyndon Stark, 77 Russell Gill and son 757 Callum Gill all tend to go well in the 1500s and so will fancy their chances.
Superstar 898 Andy Battle is sure to be mounted in Vauxhall machinery and will be confident of claiming his first title since switching his allegiance to Trackstar this year.
Other qualifiers who could fare well, especially with a favourable grid draw, include 1500cc specialist 315 Nathan Webb, past world champions 390 David Gibson and 399 Jonny Atkin and 2016 Micro UK champion 322 Tom Fox. The full list of qualifiers can be found here.

Among the huge field of cars that will grid for the last-chance qualifier are stock car man 08 Lee Green and brothers 887 Liam and 888 Lloyd Stark who could all be threats.
While the National title is on the line, plenty of the massive entry list will be out simply to have a crash, entertain the crowd and maybe spoil someone else’s chances while they’re at it. There are welcome outings for the Predators’ 79 Ricky Twell, 219 Rob Betts and 479 Joel Allen, plus renowned crasher 514 Charlie Taylor of the Shunters. Others likely to spice up the action include brothers 51 James and 511 Jack Licquorice, the Wild Boyz’ 43 Nicky Bishop and 747 Liam Hard.

Junior Banger
A strong entry of under-16s will provide further entertainment on the afternoon. World champion 328 Ben Nichols and national points champion 90 Joey Holmes Jr will continue their rivalry, but there will be plenty more to look out for on track too.

608 Lennie Murkin has had another strong season, while 77 Lewis Ivatt, 715 Josh Prince 999 Louie Cottrill have had slightly up-and-down campaigns, so will be out to end the season on a high in the last couple of meetings this year. 188 Codie Reeves has shown herself to be a star of the future, while 854 Aiden Storr is the entertainer of Junior Bangers. The packed white grade illustrates the production line of talent coming through the formula.
