Steve "Psycho Hemmings Axe Tinction

Norfolk Arena, Sat 18 May 2013 - 5pm

Plans are now started to get advanced for 401 Psycho’s Axe-Tinction meeting on Saturday 18 May.

This is already looking to be a very special night of Banger action and the latest information on the meeting is below;

Pits will open at 11am for drivers and mechanics whilst the general admission gates will open at 1pm for advance ticket holders and 1.30pm for tickets sold on the day. There will be a Grand Parade of all drivers at 4pm with racing set to begin at 5pm.

We hope to bring a lot of interviews and news that is going on in the pits as well as replays of action through a gigantic 45m2 super size screen which will be sited on turn 1 & 2 and we believe that this is the first time that a screen of this size will have been used at a Banger meeting.

With a bit of additional Pit Space having been created we will be able to take 168 Unlimited Bangers for the meeting.

How to get a booking

Steve has invited a number of drivers for the meeting. The rest of the places for this meeting will initially go on a first come first served basis at the Unlimited Banger Icebreaker. Drivers will only be able to book in for Axe-tinction this way by seeing Alistair Oxby at the meeting and filling in a form with him and paying your £10 deposit which is returnable when you race on the day or if you cancel this booking. In recognition that not everyone will be able to make the Icebreaker, the final ten axe-tinction places for the meeting will be held back and all drivers who have tried to book in for the meeting by 1 February either at the Icebreaker or through the post will be entered into a draw where the last ten places will be selected.

Meeting Format

Steve has already got some fantastic names from the world of Banger Racing booked in to race and many drivers are looking like they will be excelling in the material department. Whilst we will not be releasing a list of cars which will be being raced at this meeting, we are sure that nobody will be disappointed!

Looking at the list of cars and drivers which are booked in to race so far, the meeting format is looking like including the following;

Some Pre 70 Races

An all Yank Race

A “class of ‘92” race

A Psycho invitational race

As always if people have got ideas of what they think would work at Steve’s meeting then let us know by messaging Steve or Trackstar on here or by E Mailing trackstar@norfolkarena.co.uk

Fundraising

Steve is looking for his meeting to raise as much money as possible with monies raised being split between FORDS & the special baby care unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn.

Manuella of Fords fame will be co-ordinating all fund raising activities and will no doubt update everyone on her plans. Heats and entertainer awards are available to be sponsored at the cost of £100 with all proceeds going to the charities. Sponsors will receive an advert in the souvenir programme together with a small momento of their sponsorship and will also be able to present their award to the driver who wins it on track. Should they present a trophy they will receive a picture of their presentation after the event. Manuella can be contacted on ovalchat or by E Mailing info@fords-care.com

There will also be a raffle on the day and we are looking for as many drivers and other people connected with the sport to donate what they can to make this raffle something extra special. Drivers may have an old fin number hanging up in the garage or helmet or anything along those lines which fans love to get their hands on and will help to make a fantastic raffle which will hopefully raise a lot of money for these great causes. Again anyone with anything to donate should contact Manuella.

The axe number fin from Steve’s car will be auctioned either during the night or in the bar after the meeting.
