Records of car turnouts go back over twenty years and the 70 car barrier has only been broken once in this period and that took place almost ten years ago when 71 cars raced at King's Lynn at the World Final meeting which took place on the 11 September of that year. Whilst records go back over 20 years it is not believed that over 70 cars have been in action for many years before that - indeed it has been eight years since 60 cars were in action at a meeting!

The 71 car barrier looks set to be smashed on the 29 & 30 June with 75 cars currently booked in for action over the weekend nearly two weeks before the event.
