Congratulations to King's Lynn local, 428 Lee Sampson, who was crowned British Champion in Two-Litre Saloon Stock Cars for the second time in his career on Sunday (21 June) at Taunton.
A win in his opening qualifying heat on Saturday evening, backed-up by second in the last race of the night, gave Sampson a third row starting position for the big race. From there, he rose to fourth in the opening exchanges, then make excellent use of the front bumper to demote 677 Eddie Darby and 349 Michael Allard. A similar attack on race-leader 186 Todd Jones moved Sampson in front from where he was never headed. He carved through the traffic with ease, eventually taking a comfortable win from Darby and Jones.
We look forward to welcoming Lee back to his home track on 1/2 August for the National Championship weekend, a title he has won previously at King's Lynn, back in 2007.
