The F1 Stock Cars on Saturday 24 October has received a big cash boost courtesy of Buxton Raceway on a night when the “winners take it all!”
The well documented problems on F1 World Final night which was promoted by Buxton Raceway last month at King’s Lynn saw the cancelation of the Grand National – a race which has a Prize Fund of over £2000.
The prize fund was scheduled to be added onto the Grand National at Buxton on 11 October but unfortunately poor light saw that race have to be cancelled.
Buxton Promoter Matthew Watson is keen to ensure that the F1 drivers do not miss out on money which they were entitled to as part of the World Final Schedule and has passed the £2000+ bounty to Trackstar to be added onto the F1 Prize Fund on 24 October.
Following discussions with the BSCDA the Prize Fund will not be added onto the Grand National so as not to overshadow the meeting final but will be split across the meeting to increase the winners’ purses in every race and also enhance the grade awards.
Six F1 Stock Car races are planned to be run at King’s Lynn on 24 October with a White & Yellows race kicking things off before a main meeting which will either be a 2 heat / cons / final / Grand National format or two thirds meeting depending on car numbers.
There will be £300 added to the winner’s purse in every race (including the White & Yellows race) and the White Top Grade Award will have £120 added to it with the grade award for yellow, blue, red and superstars having £115 added to it.
Any driver who wins any race throughout the meeting (including the White & Yellows race) will not be eligible for the grade award. This means that up to 11 drivers will benefit from a share of the bounty.
Our thanks go to Matthew Watson and Buxton Raceway for their support of this event.
