Fans of F1 Stock Car Superstar 84 Tom Harris will probably be disappointed to hear that the former World Champion is likely to be restricting his F1 outings to a handful of tarmac appearances in 2016 with the main efforts of the Harris team being directed to racing in the USA.
However his fans will be pleased that there will be at least one appearance from Harris on shale this year – although whilst it is at an F1 meeting, it will not be in an F1 Stock Car!
The opening F1 meeting of the season sees F1 Stock Cars in action with 2L Stock Cars and BriSCA MiniStox at King’s Lynn on Saturday 19 March and Tom will be racing the Banwell Racing Hire Car in the 2L Stock Cars.
No doubt Tom will be right at home with the bumper battering 2L Stock Cars and with 52 Saloons currently booked in the action is certain to come thick and fast.
Hopes are also high for a record breaking season opener entry for the F1 Stock Cars. Last year saw the highest season opener entries for several years with 30 racing at Belle Vue to kick off 2015 followed a week later with a 39 car entry at King’s Lynn.
With 35 F1s booked in for the season opener over a week before the meeting this year with several Lynn regulars conspicuous by their absence (So far 21 of the drivers who raced at the Lynn opener in 2015 are not yet booked in for 19 March), hopes are a high for a 40+ car entry in the F1 Stock Cars on 19 March.
