Trackstar are delighted to report massive early interest in the Granada Meeting which has been recently announced as taking place at King's Lynn on Saturday 19 August.
Indeed early interest has been that strong that in less than 72 hours of the meeting being announced 137 cars had already booked in for the meeting and an early list of drivers booked in to race appears below.
It is also very pleasing to note that over 90 of the bookings are for Mk1 or Mk2 Granadas. This means that we are now able to announce that both the Mk1/2 and the Mk3 Granadas will have their own series of heats and their own final before coming together for a joint Destruction Derby at the end of the meeting.
With this now in essence being a Mk1 /Mk2 Granada meeting with support coming from Mk3 Granadas, any driver may bring a car for each class if they wish. IE they can bring a Granada to go int he Mk1/2s and a Granada for the Mk3s. Any driver wishing to do this should inform the promotion though to ensure they are correctly booked in.
Any driver who wishes to race who is not listed below needs to book in and this can be done on 01553 771111 / 07939 580652. If you are listed below and no longer able to race you should also contact the promotion on the same number and if you are racing a different type of Granada to what you have informed the promotion or wish to book in an additional class this can also be done on these numbers.
A reminder on the engine rules for this meeting - we can confirm that we are not insisting on age-related engine swaps. Therefore any engine can be used subject to the normal ORCi Unlimited Banger rule that the engine used may not have a larger capacity than the engine range originally available in the car as supplied direct from the manufacturer to the UK marketplace.
We can also confirm that all styles of Mk3 Granada – hatchback, saloon, estate, hearse and limo - are able to race in this class. The only versions now excluded are the later ‘Frogeye’ cars. Hopefully this decision will enable more drivers to find a suitable car to race if they wish to do so. Please note that all Mk3 Granadas should remain on original suspension with 5 stud wheels.
