Trackstar have experienced some terrible luck over the winter of 2017 / 2018 with regards to weather at events with snow and heavy rain seeing the Nutcracker being cancelled and we now have to reluctantly announce the postponement of the Unlimited Banger Icebreaker which was due to take place this Sunday 21 January. This has now been rescheduled and will take place on Saturday 27 January (1pm). The latest forecasts are suggesting heavy rain which will be preceded by sleet and snow will fall in Norfolk for a period of twelve hours from around 10am on Sunday.
Any decision to postpone a meeting is not taken lightly. However racing on shale in heavy rain is not an enjoyable event for many and we decided to let the drivers decide whether we should persevere and run on Sunday or postpone the event and take the chance the weather will be better. Every team has had the chance to vote for what they would prefer us to do and a sizeable majority have voted for us to reschedule the meeting and hope for better weather next Saturday.
There is of course every chance that the forecast for Sunday will change but we have taken the best advise we can from several forecasting agencies and have to make an early decision with some people planning on travelling over on Friday.
Some teams which were booked will not be able to do the rescheduled event but the vast majority will do and we hope to be in a position to publish a new entry list with confirmed bookings in the next 24 hours.
