To some, the race drivers are more than drivers on track; Tom Moreland got in touch recently to tell us about Trackstar Superstar Lee "Stretch" White, who to him and his family is more than just a Superstar on track, after helping their Daughter Laura through a very tough time the last few months during Lockdown.
“Laura is 16 and has been enjoying Bangers since she was about 13. She was diagnosed with Autism at about 11 and we found it very difficult to engage with her until she found Bangers. We introduced Laura to Bangers after I found the Crash for Cancer race. We were camping not far away and I decided to surprise the family by booking us in to watch. Everyone enjoyed it and I have been driving Laura and her Mum to meetings ever since; trying to get to 1 or 2 meetings per month; with travel distances it can be too much; so we tend to travel up on the morning stay in a local hotel and then travel back the following day when Laura has calmed down a little.”
“Laura really struggled with lockdown and not being able to go racing. Lee was such a big support, he helped her through some very tough times; at the end of the phone for her throughout and has listened when she had no one to talk to. Lee was such a rock for our daughter, she is his biggest fan and he has gone above and beyond to help. Words can’t express my Wife’s and I appreciation to him.”
Well done Lee from all of us at Trackstar.
