Race fans Duncan Woodhead and his 11 year old Son are hiking King’s Lynn to Skegness during the week between the F1 Stock Car Semi Finals to raise money for the BSCDA Trust Fund.
We're both lifelong F1 fans. We live in south London but I'm originally from Yorkshire.
A little while ago we planned to hike between the two tracks as part of our 'staycation' this summer. Then I read the sad news of Tim Warwick and it made me reflect on whether we could raise some funds for the BSCDA Trust Fund because of our walk.
The route we're taking is along the coast in parts but also takes in Surfleet and Boston simply because of the waterways and (lack of) availability of accommodation in parts of the country we're walking. As a result, we are walking an estimated 120km / 70m. Unlike those for whom we're raising money, we can report we are not only turning left!
We are mixing B&B accommodation with camp sites, staying in Kings Lynn 31/7, Sutton Bridge 1/8, Holbeach Hurn 2/8, Surfleet 3/7, Boston 4/8, Old Leake 5/8, Top Yard Farm 6/8, and Skegness stadium 7/8.
Fred is in Y7 at school in Sutton, south London. I am a National Officer for FDA, the civil service trade union.
