Matt Black reviews some of the contenders to watch out for over the weekend.

299 Tommy Callaghan

Tommy is currently sitting second in the world of shale qualifying process, only a handful of points behind leader and visiting driver 209 Tom Waller.  Tommy has been incredible since the last world of shale where he finished with an incredible top 3.  For a driver at such a young age to be able to string the sort of form he has together to mount a challenge for the crown is nothing short of remarkable, and would send him into the main event in September brimming with confidence.  He can now mix it with the best of them, and is now one of the rising stars at Trackstar, and around the ovals. This is a promotion that has over 300 registered drivers to it’s name, and to win anything is never easy.  Make sure you are with us Saturday night to see if Tommy can keep on the right track and win the unlimited banger world of shale points crown, all roads lead to Saturday night in this next round of qualifiers.

107 Taylor Pratchett

This young Gladiator has set his stall out very early this year, and has made a break for it in the entertainers league at the start of the current campaign.  He is in action Saturday night in the unlimited bangers, and then no less than three formulas on bank holiday Monday.   A real budget racer, who has stepped up his intention this year, and really giving it a go, a proper entertainer, who loves a crash, and he looks set to qualify for everything that is up for grabs this year.  Whether the chasing pack are giving him a bit of a head start is hard to say, but he is looking like he is up for the challenge, and if up to his a game, he could rack up a serious amount of points over the Easter weekend.

608 Lenny Murkin

Current leader of the micro banger uk points, and the overall national points leader after a devastating display here last Saturday.  It may be the crazy races, but Lenny is here for the points, and will be going all out to rack up some serious scores on Monday.  An incredible young talent who only has the budget for micro bangers and 1500cc national bangers, but his high average scores in those two formulas alone will keep him around at the top of the national points, and make sure he is in there mixing it up until the end of the season.

28 Mac Bell

Current leader of the white and yellow points and if taking visitors out of the equation, he is sitting second in the overall national points.  Mac has been a revelation since joining the TSR ranks, and can race or crash.  A really good entertainer on his day, however it has been good to see a different side to Mac in the early stages of 2022 and will be kept busy in the 4x4’s and Siamese bangers on Monday.

670 Max Eaton

Max will be making his last junior performance with us on Saturday night, and has captured every trophy possible in his time here.  National points champion, and also voted drivers driver of the year by his fellow drivers for the 2021 campaign.  He has consistently scored top three finishes even when starting at the back of the pack as a superstar graded driver with flashing likes, he has always raced very fair and has been an absolute pleasure to have him race with us.  We know we will see him in the national bangers, but it would be great to see as many people as possible cheering this young man on as he makes his last appearance in the juniors this Saturday with us.
