Old Skool Front Wheel Drive Fest

Following the success and acclaim of the 2018 & 2019 meetings and attempt to run the 2020 meeting; Trackstar are proud to announce that King’s Lynn on Saturday 29 May will once again be a time warp of 2 Litre National Banger meeting.  The theme for the night is medium size family saloons, hatchbacks and estates from the late ‘80s and early ‘90s and with this in mind we are inviting drivers to come and race with us in Nissan Bluebirds, Nissan Primeras, Vauxhall Cavaliers, Vauxhall Calibras and Toyota Carinas.

As far as construction goes, normal ORCi National Banger regulations will apply including any changes to rules which come into force between now and the date of the meeting.

Answers to some of the likely questions are as follows:

·        All cars to be front wheel drive – no rear wheel drive Bluebirds, Cavaliers or Carinas without checking first with promotion

·        Engine limit is 2 litres for all cars

·        All engines are to be from the range originally fitted to the car for sale in the UK market

·        Only the five models named above will be eligible to race.  We know that there are plenty of other similarly sized cars from the same era – e.g. Mazda 626, Mitsubishi Galant, etc, etc but initial feedback suggests that we will have more bookings than we can accept whilst keeping a restricted list of cars

·        In keeping with the late 80s and early 90s theme, Mk3 Primera (P12) and Toyota Carina E models are excluded from the meeting – let’s keep it old skool!

As a seperate formula on the same night a further throwback to yesteryear will take place with the all Sunny and Almera meeting taking place on the same night.

Bookings for this meeting will open next week.

As usual, the prize fund will have a bit of something for everybody – finishing positions in the races, car presentation awards and entertainer awards.
