The Norfolk Arena is completly unrecognisable to what it was even a few years ago with major improvements having been made every season and those improvements are set to continue with a winter programme of improvements having already been started.
The home straight bar prior to demolition
The main improvements over this winter will see the home straight grandstand being doubled in size. The current stand gives an unrivalled view of the racing and with the additional stand set to see the seated capacity raise to around 700 it will be an impressive sight.
The roof comes off the old bar
There will be a new bar built under the new stand with the new structure set to extend virtually down to the turnstiles and the trackshop and other eateries will also be built under the new stand.
The walls come down
Work has now seen half of the old home straight bar being demolished to make way for the frot of the stand to be erected whilst the other half has been panelled in so it is still able to be used. The concrete has also now been drilled where the footings for the new stand will go in.
Area being drilled for the footings for the new stand
We will keep you updated with the progression of the new stand as the Winter goes on but the continued plans and ambition of stadium owner Keith "Buster" Chapman is fantastic news for Stock Car and Banger Racing fans as improvements continue and what is now one of the best appointed venues in the sport.
Gives some idea of what the size of the new structure will be which will stretch right down to the turnstiles
*** Tickets for the new stand for the F1 World Final for the additional stand will not go on sale until the structure has been built and seats allocated although seats for the current structure are now on sale together with the temporary "turn 2" stand.
