Sunday’s meeting at King’s Lynn featuring the Unlimited Banger Nutcracker and 1500cc Banger National Championship has been cancelled with weather forecasters predicting snow on Sunday.
King’s Lynn is currently covered by a Met Office yellow weather warning for snow with the met office saying snow for King’s Lynn with heavy snow predicted for 9am and 12 Noon.
We have taken advise from several forecasting companies and the best forecast suggests that the snow will turn to persistent rain from around 8am to 2pm with bitter winds which give the temperature which will not go above 1 degree, a “feel like” of -5.
With midland and northern areas being forecast to be hit with even more snow - which are areas which a large number of our drivers and fans travel from – the indications are that travellers will find the journey very hazardous and difficult to make.
We do not want to wait until the last minute to cancel the meeting so have made a decision based on the best information which we currently have.
With racing going on most weekends in East Anglia and the Icebreakers around the corner the meeting will not be restaged and the National Championship will take place at the first 1500cc Banger meeting of 2018.
We apologise to drivers and fans for and inconvenience this may cause and look forward to seeing people at our festive event on Saturday 30 December (1pm).
