Wainman Wanting Grand Success

BriSCA F1 Stock Car Superstar and multiple champion Frankie Wainman (515) will be looking to enter the history books on Saturday 4th August (Racing from 5pm) by becoming the first driver to have ever claimed a hat trick of F1 finals in successive meetings around the King’s Lynn Arena; in doing the hat trick, a bonus payout will take the final winner purse up to £1000!

A number of drivers have come close to getting three in a row; Simon Panton (288) in 2004, Steve Cayzer (380) in 2005, Craig Finnikin (55) has twice got a brace of final wins in 2010 and 2012, Stuart Smith (390) gave it a good go and came close earlier this year, but in the history of F1 racing at King's Lynn which can trace its origins back to 1955, no driver has ever claimed a hat trick of wins. Frankie himself nearly did the hattrick in 2016; but he was a marked man, how will the 515 machine fair this time as he goes after the £1000 again?

Keith Organ caught up with Frankie to find out how he was thinking before this Saturday.

Frankie Wainman: “The season has been good so far, but very hard work. I’m determined in every final, but to win 3 on the trot would be a great thing to do; especially for the extra prize money. That will go a long way towards tyres for the 3 of us. I’ve no particular game plan, I’m just going to watch my back and try to watch out for cheap shots. Back in March; I think Stuart was too cautious when he was trying to get 3 on the trot. He made a few mistakes and we were soon on him. Finally, I’d like to say a massive thanks to Sam and the family; all my mechanics and team and an extra massive thanks to all our sponsors who help the team keep going.”

Thank you to Frankie for taking time out of his busy schedule and we wish him luck for Saturday.

Will he be enjoying a grand success and making history - only one way to find out on Saturday 4th August – 5pm start! http://www.stockcar-racing.co.uk/content/news/sat-4-august-5pm-preview.ashx
