The Junior Banger Association have an exciting 2020 season planned.
Following input from drivers and families the JBA will be putting together a national fixture list which will eliminate localised clashes and will aim to have racing on the majority of weekends throughout the season so drivers have a meeting they can go to.
Following the loss of Stoke and concerns about the number of fixtures in the North, Startrax will be running dates at their other venues and aim to run a similar amount of meetings for the formula which they ran in 2019. In addition the JBA are delighted to announce that the North will be further serviced by a number of fixtures at Buxton which will be a new track for the formula in 2020.
The National Fixture list will be published when it is ready later this year. The JBA are also delighted to announce that with the exception of the introduction of race receivers for drivers there are no major rule changes planned.
Following the 12 month delay which was announced last year of JBA drivers only being allowed to race Junior Bangers on JBA tracks, the association would also like to remind all drivers before they licence for next year that this rule will come into place from 1 January 2020.
As a reminder, drivers need to decide whether they wish to race at JBA tracks or wish to race on non ORC tracks. From 1 January any driver who races a Junior Banger at a non ORC track will not be allowed to race on an ORC track in Junior Bangers for a period of twelve months. If a driver races a Junior Banger on an ORC track and then races a Junior Banger on a non ORC track they will receive a full twelve month ORC Ban.
We realise that the above will not suit everyone. The JBA would like to emphasise they are not looking at telling drivers where they can race – it is every driver and race teams choice where they decide to licence and race. We also know that you will want to discuss this but would like to politely remind drivers, families and race teams that social media abuse is an offence which can lead to disciplinary action and the JBA will be monitoring social media.
The Junior Banger Association look forward to providing its drivers with another fantastic season with a full calendar of events to race at.
